Treasure Hunting! <3 Empty Treasure Hunting! <3

Post by Lucy Thu Aug 10, 2017 9:23 am

It was a cool, summer night as Lucy traveled through the trees of Krasnaya Raka Coast. She was searching for anything at this time of night, whether it be a Pokémon, a mysterious item, or an egg. She had not gotten to explore much she she came to this area, as she had ran into some new friends quite quickly after her arrival. Before her potential new companions got bored and wanted to leave, the young blonde wanted to explore some more.

Traveling with her under the dark, spotted night sky were Sparky and Eirakie. The three of them had gotten very close, their bonds tightening as they traveled together. Eirakie was still weary of other people, but she had warmed up to Lucy and Sparky. It was a tremendous improvement for the former wild Pokémon.

“Think we will find anything good, you guys?” Lucy gently spoke, a little louder than a whisper as to not disrupt the serene and peaceful environment of sleeping wildlife. “Pi pi!” “Croooa.” Were the two responses to her question, Sparky looking energetic and all fired up. He loved adventures and exploring so this was a real treat for the little electric mouse. Eirakie was less enthusiastic, more of a monotone and indifferent demean taking over her features. She enjoyed spending time with her new friends than she did anything else, so she really didn't care what they all did as long as they were all together.

As you move amout you can see something moving in a distance. It is a two leaved plant reaching towards the sun. As you get closer you can see its yellow bodywith the brown stripes for now still it's back turned on you the smiling face towards the sushine. "Suuuuuunnnnnn~"

As the trio were moving about underneath the tree line, they spotted a tiny yellow pokemon a few feet away. The pokemon, whose species was unknown to the young trainer, was reaching for what little sunlight the barely rising sun provided. It had two leaves sprouting from the top, and had brown stripes across its yellow body. It looked like a plant, and Lucy guessed it was a grass type by the way it reached out towards the sun (as if it was using photosynthesis).

She pulled out her pokedex, hoping its robotic voice would be quiet enough to not frighten the wild pokémon, as it looked so peaceful where it sat. The pokedex spouted out, “Sunkern, the Seed Pokémon. Sunkern drink the dew that collects beneath leaves. It is believed that it neither eats nor drinks anything else.”

It seemed the Sunkern had been too distracted by its own activities to hear the pokedex, and Lucy sighed in relief at that. The trio decided to turn, going deeper into the forest instead of the way the Sunkern was, to keep from disturbing the little plant pokemon. They kept their footsteps quiet, stepping slowly on a few crunching leaves until they were far out of earshot from the Sunkern.

They traveled deeper into the trees, being careful to not trip on above ground roots. The sky was dark in body, but the sun speaker barely out from the skyline. Dawn would come within the next hour, and she would either have to return or be late to her companions, unless they stayed asleep past dawn, which she secretly hoped would be the case.

“Pika pi!” Sparky caught the two’s attention as he spoke up, pointing at a cave carved out from the side of a rock formation, which overlooked the sea. “Let's quietly looking inside, shall we? Be on guard though, this could be a pokemon’s home.” Lucy quietly instructed as the three of them glanced through the mouth of the cave. Sparky was on all fours, ready to shock anything that struck out in anger, and Eirakie readied her poisonous hands in case she needed to jab anything. The two would not let anything harm their closest friend, Lucy.

“Pika!” “Croagunk!””What!”

Inside the cave was...nothing. Much to their disappointments, not even a sleeping pokemon laid inside.

“Oh well, let’s see how far this cave goes!” Lucy shrugged and began walking in, noticing the cave was rather small. She had to duck to walk around, bending her head as she looked around. Sparky and Eirakie walked in front of her, still cautious and on high alert. The inside of the cave was cooler than outside, no warmth except the walls. If a fire had been lit within its brown, earthy walls it would be a rather nice camping spot. Especially if it were raining. It would keep them dry and out of any storm.

The cave grew darker as the light from outside dimmed away, and soon Lucy had to run her hands across the rough wall to make sure she wouldn't run into anything. Every few moments Sparky would use his Thunder Shock attack to momentarily illuminate the cave, making sure there weren't any obstacles in their way. After what seemed like eternity, but was really only about ten minutes, the cave lightened as they reached its end. The mouth of the cave opened up to a waterfall, which flowed into a large pool of water beneath. There was a small walk way to the side of the cave opening, allowing them to not get drenched by the falling water.

Lucy breathed in sharply, in awe at the scenery in front of them. The water glistened as it fell from high above, distorting her view slightly when she looked through it. Sparky wasted no time in jumping through the waterfall, landing with a large splash in the large clearing. He swam happily about, bobbing his head up and down as he looked underneath the water.

As Sparky jumped in, Lucy squeaked in surprise at the sudden feeling of warm water hitting her face and clothes. She expected it to be cold, as the sun had not yet risen and thus, had not warmed anything on the ground enough.

Lucy smiled down at her partner as she exclaimed, “Let's go check it out, Eirakie!” She had not been to a natural pool of water before, and definitely not one that had warm water flowing through it. She wasn't sure but thought maybe a hot springs was nearby and filtered some of the water to this pool, as the water had not been as hot as a spring, but was definitely not as cold as it should be.

The two ran down the walkway, eyeing the beautiful view. The natural pool of water was surrounded by grass and dotted with blossomed flowers. It was about four feet wide and five feet long. She wasn't sure how deep it was, but guessed only a few feet tall.

As she was taking off her shoes and socks to soak her feet in the water, Lucy wondered if any pokemon were nearby, and if any of them would join them in the pool. Eirakie sat beside, sticking her own paws into the water but not wanting to jump all the way in as Sparky had done.

“Woah, watch out!” Shouted the frantic blonde as the pool began to bubble wildly, a large blue pokemon emerging from its slumber. She had been wrong about the size of the pond, as this new wild pokemon was far larger than average. Due to this, Sparky jumped back to the ground, as the pool was almost filled completely by the water pokemon.

Lucy pulled out her pokedex, and heard the robotic voice explain, “Wailmer, the Ball Whale Pokémon. It spouts water out of its nose and becomes lethargic when its body becomes dry. It loves to startle people. It fills itself up with seawater and plays by bouncing around like a ball.” As if it heard its dex entry, the Wailmer shot a spray of water at Lucy, drenching the poor girl’s clothes and knocking her over, her back slamming into the ground from the force of the water gun. This caused her feet to lift out if the water.

Without hesitation, Sparky’s cheeks sizzled as he shot out a stream of electricity at the water type pokemon. The moment his cheeks lit up, Eirakie moved her paws away from the water and she dragged Lucy farther away as well, not wanting either of them to get electrocuted.

The Wailmer cried out as she was shocked, since she could not avoid the Thunder Shock due to being inside a pool of water, and because of how big she was. The Thunder Shock was a direct hit, and because Wailmer was a water type, it did double the damage.

Lucy would not have instructed Sparky to attack on her own, as she understood the Wailmer was in a panic and did not understand what was going on. But the pikachu was hot headed and quick to act, and with Lucy being attacked he instinctively took charge.

Lucy sat up and called off the pikachu, “Sparky, hold on! Let's try to reason with the Wailmer.” She wanted to calm the wild pokémon down, instead of attacking them. They had intruded on the Wailmer’s home after all.

With thoughts of peace in her mind, she got up and walked over to the edge of the pool, smiling reassuringly at the Wailmer. “Hi Wailmer! I'm so sorry we intr-”

She was unable to finish her talk if peace as the Wailmer flailed about, almost smacking her in the head with its fin if it weren't for Eirakie pulling her backwards by her jacket. “W-woah, that was close! Thank you, you saved me, Eirakie!”

Lucy glanced at the panicked Wailmer, figuring out it was too hostile to be reasoned with at this moment, and turned to Sparky, who was on all fours again. “Alright Sparky, we can't reason with them so we will have to calm them down through battle! Are you ready?”

“Pika pi!” He called out, jumping to the side as the Wailmer used Rollout. Luckily Sparky was on land, and far quicker than the water type. “Use Thunder Shock again!” Lucy called out, and Sparky’s cheeks unleashed a roar of electricity yet again.

The stream hit the water, as the Wailmer sank underneath in an attempt to dodge the attack. However, the water conducted electricity and caused the Wailmer to still be shocked, doing twice the damage yet again. The Wailmer floated to the top of the tiny pool, anger in its large eyes but it's breathing hitched as it was feeling the damage from two Thunder Shocks. It wouldn't last much longer if this battle continued.

That was when Lucy got an idea. She took one of the empty pokeballs from her belt, enlarged it with a click of the button in the center, and threw it at the tires Wailmer. The pokemon was enveloped in a white light, and the ball fell to the ground by the water, rocking side to side. She hoped she would be able to catch this Wailmer, as it would be her first time catching a pokemon from a battle instead of befriending the pokemon.

When you try catching a Pokémon just use the Catch dice so that we can conclude the result.
Catching rate for a rare Pokékemon as this is 1-4 adding 1 for it's exhaustion level.
So a roll from 1-5 will catch it. *rolles for you*

As the red and white ball rolled around, it popped open, releasing the Wailmer back into the pool of water. Despite how many attacks it took, it was still strong enough to escape capture.

“That's alright, Sparky. We just have to try harder!” Lucy called out, preparing for another attack. The Wailmer used Growl, aiming to weaken Sparky’s attack power. “Now is our chance! Use Thunder Shock once more!”

Sparky obliged, lighting the red pouches on his cheek with electricity before aiming it at the water type. Wailmer shot a stream of water at the pikachu, the two attacks colliding. Sparky was able to push through the water with his lightning, zapping the Wailmer. Some drops of water splashed on Sparky as the water gun has been split in two by his Thunder Shock. Wailmer cried out in pain as he was shocked again, taking quite the beating.

“Sparky use Quick Attack before he can retaliate!” Before the water type could do anything, the pikachu ran forward at a blinding speed, slamming into the large whale like pokemon. He bounced off of it, but still did some damage due to his momentum from the quick attack. Sparky then jumped back into the ground, not wanting to be stuck in the water, lest he be put at a disadvantage.

Lucy unhooked a second pokeball from her belt, leaving her with two left if this one did not work. Just like the first one, she threw the ball at the Wailmer, which was engulfed in a white light before being sucked up into the pokeball. She crossed her fingers as the ball rocked side to side on the ground, hoping this time would be successful. She didn't want to take the chance if the Wailmer fainting, as it was most likely close to doing just such.

Much to her dismay, the Wailmer fought hard and succeeded, popping out of the pokeball yet again!

“I thought we had her this time! Alright, Quick Attack!” Lucy would keep up the attack’s, lowering the pokemon’s health just enough for them to not be able to fight out of the pokeball. Sparky blitzed towards the Wailmer, who floated on the water’s surface once more. He rammed into the water type, doing a little damage. Then he landed on the ground, to be met with a water gun at his face, causing him to roll back a few feet.

Lucy rushed over to her fallen pokemon, checking to see if he was alright, “Sparky, can you continue fighting?” “Pika pikachuuu!” He shouted his battle cry, jumping to his feet again, determination shone in his eyes. It would take a lot more to knock him down. This caused the young trainer to smile as she stood up, getting back into position for the battle.

“Use Play Nice!” She did not want to lower the Wailmer’s health too low so she started to attack its stats, using play nice to target its attack stat and lowering it. Pikachu jumped in the air and waved his tail, sparkles flying as he did so. The attack automatically hit (per what the “dex” said it does). Before the Wailmer could attack again, Lucy took another pokeball from her belt and threw it with accuracy, hitting the Wailmer on the head and encompassing it in the familiar white light. Lucy hoped this would work, otherwise she only had one attempt left and then she would be out of pokeballs. She never knew it would be this tough catching a pokémon, otherwise she would have stocked up on more pokeballs.

Lucy could hear victory music playing silently in the background while the Pokéball shook, shook again and then staied still. It had captured a Pokémon and the gigantic Waimer had squeezed itself into this tiny ball. This hard fought battle was well deserving of this reward.
The little Pikachu seemed proud of itself but also exhaused.

Quiet, 4th wall breaking music played in the background as the small ball rolled side to side once, twice, a third time before it stopped, Lucy crossed her fingers in anticipation of whether that meant the Wailmer would stay in the ball or if it would pop out her again. With a faint click, the Wailmer stayed within the ball, and Lucy walked over, bending down to scoop up the tiny ball in her hands.

As she eyed the tiny ball in her hands, she was fascinated with now such a tiny object could be infinitely large on the inside. It made her wonder what it was like inside a pokeball; spacious she hoped, but would it be dark or would there be any form of light within it? Lucy doubted anyone actually knew that answer, besides the people who invented the contraption in the first place.

“You deserve a nice long rest. Wailmer, I think I great name for you would be Nerida! I'll ask you what you think about it once you've rested.” She gently placed a kiss upon the seal to the pokeball before clicking the center button, shrinking the ball and rehooking it to her belt. There were four balls attached to the belt now, and she realized she would need to restock at the next pokemart they passed by. She hoped she might run into a random trainer along the way, and earn some money to pay for her expenses.

Lucy turned to her two remaining pokemon, picking up Sparky and cradling him in her arms while Eirakie walked alongside them, “You did a fantastic job today, Sparky! You also deserve a nice long rest.” Sparky did not hear her kind words, as the moment she picked him up he had fallen asleep, the comfort of her embrace enough to rock him into a much needed slumber. The battle had worn the little mouse out far more than he had let on.

The two began to prepare for their walk back to their camp, Lucy holding Sparky in her left arm as she used her right to put her socks and boots back on. Then she placed her backpack on, switch which arm Sparky was in gently as she put the other strap on her shoulder. “Ready to head out?” She smiled down at Eirakie as she stood up, still holding onto Sparky as if he were a baby in her arms. Eirakie nodded her dark head, not needing to do anything before they left.

Thus the duo began their trek, climbing back up the rocky walk way, dodging stray streaks of water as they passed next to the waterfall. Lucy made sure to create a mental map of where this natural lake was so that the next time she was at the coast she could visit it, possibly showing her companions if they wanted. Lucy ducked, her neck craning to keep bent as they crossed the low, blackened cave. They went a little slower through the cave as they did not have Sparky’s Thunder Shock to light the way every few minutes. The two did not want to run into anything, especially not while it was pitch black.

After about fifteen minutes the two reached the other end of the cave, sunlight warmly greeting then as they exited. “Aah~ finally! There is light!” The blonde cheered quietly, not wanting to wake the sleeping pokemon. “Croooa.” Eirakie replied, also enjoying being able to see clearly. Sure the dark enhanced her other senses, but she preferred to be able to see instead of relying on her weaker senses.

It didn't take long to reach their camp, cutting across the forest until they reached the tallest tree in the area, surrounded by a large clearing.

(Exit)
