Back On The Saddle Again
Bastion made his way across the shore with a little Eevee trotting along side him, their journey truly beginning here... It was early in the morning, the sky was dark with the sun barely peeking across the horizon. The air smelled deeply of salt and the ground was less... even that he would've liked given the marshy nature of the coast but he was, so far, actually enjoying his journey with his friend... The little guy had been nothing but sweet and patient with him, even with Bastion's occasional fits of blankness that left him unsure of where he was going in the first place... That little Eevee was always there to point him in the right way or give him encouragement... He glanced down at the little guy and grinned softly, his partner appearing a little tired, trying to keep up with him so long on those smaller legs. The trainer rolled his eyes, coming to a stop and scooping up the little fox-like pokemon in his arms, letting it curl up against his chest as he looked for a good place to sit down and rest for a bit. After a short search he found a nice flat rock cut in such a convenient chair-shaped way that one might've thought it was on purpose. Ignoring the (minute) possibility it was just that, Bastion plopped himself down with his Eevee in hand, lightly scratching under his soft chin gently.
"You're hopeless, you know that, Horus...?" He asked jokingly. The Eevee looked up at him and smiled back, leaning into his trainer's fingers.
"Eevee..." The pokemon yawned before nestling it's head Bastion's palm, his eyes slowly closing and it's breathing slowed and leveled... Asleep.
"Yeah... I know you're tired..." Bastion acknowledged, running his hand down Horus' back and through his soft, poofy brown fur. "I'm... *yawn* a bit to..." With a warm, sleeping eevee on his lap, the sound of water crashing upon the shore and his own minor exhaustion from having made it this far, Bastion soon found himself dozing off as well, his arms wrapping around his little Horus like the walls of a nest, his eyes drooping until they fell closed...

Your bag rustles, as if someone (or something) is rummaging through it. Should you wake up, you'd have a... hyperactive encounter.

Bastion didn't get too far into his nap by the time the rustling began but it was Horus who detected it first. His ears twitched as they picked up the sound, his eyes opening slowly at first but then shot wide as he saw the invading wild pokemon. The eevee jumped to it's feet and growled defensively, the sudden change in pressure forcing Bastion out of the nice dream he was starting to have.
"W-what... Horus... what are you..." He started to say before he suddenly got a face full of the Merril's watergun The highly pressurized water-cannon splashed across Bastion's face, the sudden cold chill waking him up right quick. It seemed that the water-mouse pokemon had been aiming for Horus but apparently it wasn't the most accurate thing in the world and hit the trainer instead... lucky him. Horus jumped off his trainer's lap as Bastion rose to his feet, growling louder and louder, seemingly outraged that this wild pokemon dare hit his trainer and friend... The Merril quickly retreated with Bastion's bag in it's paws, stepping back a good ways, it's body seeming tense with energy... It wasn't just going to flee and risk loosing it's new loot.
Bastion raised a hand to his face, wiping it dry, his expression somewhat aggravated... Even back home he hated being woken up to his mother's Vaporeon's watergun and now was no different. On top of that, this pokemon just JACKED all of his stuff! As cool-headed as Bastion typically was, he wasn't going to be backing down either.
"Horus..." The trainer called. The Eevee glanced back at the trainer, awaiting orders. "Lets get our stuff back, huh?" He smiled competitively in response before turning back around to face the thief...
"Horus... Tackle, now!" Bastion commanded. The Eevee dashed towards the water-mouse, picking up more speed, intent on ramming his head into Merril's stomach.
(Calculations: Tackle has 100 accuracy vs Merril's 12 evasiveness. Request roll on if it hits and how much damage it would take.)

Re: Back On The Saddle Again
((Actually, the person requesting the roll npc's the pokemon. Numbers are strictly ooc, so damage is not a concrete principle. I just ask that you use your judgement when battling the pokemon about damage- in example, you could survive a tackle at this stage, but not a hyper beam))
Re: Back On The Saddle Again
(oh lol Okay I gotchu)
The Marril was fast and saw the attack coming, letting out a quick burst of a water-gun at the oncoming eevee. Horus was fast too, however and, without even needing a command, he quickly jumped to the side, just out of the way of the water-gun and continued his charge. The water-mouse didn't have enough time to get out of the way after choosing to attack, however and was met with a slam to it's stomach, making it lose it's grip on the pouch of supplies it had stolen and sending it rolling away into a tree trunk.
"Well done!" Bastion praised Horus, smiling widely down at the little guy. Who knew he was so strong...? The eevee smiled with pride, it's eyes fixed firmly on his opponent who was just getting to it's feet. The wild pokemon seemed winded somewhat but not exactly exhausted by the hit, it's gaze flicking from the bag, to the eevee, then back to the bag before finally settling on the pokemon before it... The Marill seemed to understand that if it wanted what's in the bag, it would have to fight for it... It wouldn't make a quick get away... Realizing that it's watergun wasn't the most accurate tool in it's arsenal so far, the water-mouse changed tactics, running straight at the Eevee, just as he had a few moments before.
"Lets meet it head on! Tackle! Again!"
Horus smiled at those orders, seemingly pleased with this direct approach. He charged again, picking up speed just as the Marill was before their bodies slammed into each other with a loud *thud*, both coming to a deadlock. The two pokemon struggled against eachother's physical might, trying to make the other give. While the Marill was bigger and heavier than the Eevee, Horus was determined and fought to defend his master and that give him the strength to level the playing field.
"Tail-Whip!" Bastion commanded, desiring for his pokemon to get some kind of edge. He needed to play the long game... Weaken it now so that Horus could get an advantage later...
The eevee, while still struggling under the Marill's equal strength, managed to pull enough attention from his opponent, his tail wagging gently to either side in an adorable manner. The Marill's eyes seemed to follow this movement, it's muscles relaxing with it's guard but also giving Horus the opportunity he needed... Slowly but surely, the Eevee began to shove the Marill back with it's moment of distraction, gaining ground on the wild pokemon, displaying his strength. What he didn't notice, however, was the water building up in the Marill's mouth...
At this point-blank range, Horus couldn't get out of the way as the Marril blasted him with a powerful water-gun, sending the little fluffy fox flying back right in front of his master, curled up in aching pain. The compressed water had battered Horus mercilessly,
"Horus! Come on... get up! Don't let this pokemon beat you... and take our stuff!" Granted, the real issue was that this Marill was making it's way back towards the bag, it's body now thoroughly worn out after that struggle. Slowly, the Eevee got back to it's feet, it's teeth bared in a snarl, its eyes firey in a competitive drive. Bastion smiled at his pokemon's determination, how eager it was to fight for him.... how it wanted to prove that he was this marill's better...
"Good... Now, lets finish it off! Tackle, one more time!" He commanded, pointing at the marill. Horus dashed forward again, slower to start due to the damage inflicted upon him before but he soon reved up to his maximum speed. the Maril managed to see this coming, however if only just and let out a powerful blast of water from it's mouth, aimed right at the charging eevee. The pokemon grit his teeth and tucked in his head, using his momentum to push through the oncoming battering of water as it washed over him... The Eevee slammed into the Marill's chest once more, sending it rolling back a good couple of feet. The eevee stood between the wild pokemon and Bastion's bag, his breath heavy, exhausted from those hits but he was still standing... and the Marill was not... It had yet to stand up from that last blow, leading the trainer to believe that Horus had defeated it...?
"Good job, buddy..." He congratulated, scooping up his little eevee with one arm, his coat already soaking up the water that drenched his fur. "Take a rest..." Horus snuggled up against his trainer's chest as he scooped up the bag from the ground and draped it over his shoulders, then pulling an empty pokeball from his belt.
"You are very strong..." Bastion murmured in admiration at the fallen would-be thief. "It would be a pleasure to have you on my team..." With that, he tossed the ball at the wild pokemon, the device opening up and enveloping the creature in a flash of red light. In an instant, the ball closed over it... Shaking and shaking... Would the Marill stay caught...?

Re: Back On The Saddle Again
The Marill burst out of the ball with a flash of white light, hit's body bruised and battered, it's eyes weary but it was still strong enough to force it's way free. The Pokeball fell aside as the Marill was revealed, the pokemon still standing it's ground against the pair of them. Horus struggled out of his trainer's grasp, falling to the ground and deftly landing on his feet, just as weary as the rival pokemon. It seemed that this fight was going to be one of tooth and nail... hopefully Bastion's pokemon came out on top...
The Maril's tail began to wave just as Horus' had a few moments ago, the pokemon's eyes enraptured by the movement, distracting him as it had been...
"Horus... Tackle, now! We need to get it weak enough for capture!" The Eevee burst into a run once more, making a bee-line right towards the wild pokemon. Maril was tough indeed but it was tired... it didn't have enough breath to hold to charge up a watergun nor did it have the strength to build up to running speed, though it tried... The Marill attempted to pick up a run to tackle-levels of speed but the Eevee had sustained less damage and was able to build up it's strength faster. The two slammed into each other yet again and, for a moment, it seemed as if there would be another struggle for strength between them, their strengths matched... But that only lasted a moment... The wild pokemon's strength failed it faster than Horus' sending it realing to the right as the eevee eventually barreled past.
The Marill lay face-down in the dirt a few meters away, struggling to get up but it's strength once again failed it... it simply sustained too much damage. Bastion plucked another ball from his belt and threw it at the fallen pokemon, this time with Horus standing guard between them. The second ball struck the water-pokemon in the center of it's head, bouncing off before opening up and sucking the pokemon back into it's walls with a flash of red light.... Again, the ball closed... Would it stay still THIS TIME...?

With that... it was over. The pokeball sealed with the Marill inside. Bastion let out a sigh of relief, bending down and scooping up his little Eevee in one arm and picking up the captured Marill in the other... He slipped the ball on his belt with small grin before cradling his little Horus in his arms... The poor thing was so exhausted, he looked like he was going to pass out any minute...
"Lets go back to sleep, huh buddy...? We'll meet with our newest member later..." With that, Bastion carried his little buddy back to the conveniently shaped chair-rock, and flopped down once again, lightly stroking Horus until they both fell asleep...
